The most significant thing about the exodus to Bluesky is that it constitutes a complete rejection of the liberal media notion that the far-right somehow deserves to be interacted with and placated.

This echo chamber nonsense is predicated on the notion that bigotry is a valid perspective. It isn’t. Grow up! Think better!

This obsession is unhealthy. Our horizons are fine. Also social media, for most, is not a job. It is not school. It is socializing. And it’s fine to say “I don’t want to hang out with Nazis, homophobes, transphobes etc in my free time.”

Note how the first thing new BlueSky users mentioned are moderation and Trust and Safety tools being the dealbreaker.

Because that’s what matters. Digital safety over everything. Doesn’t matter the shiny new tech.

Like I’ve said since day one.
