The cover of Curtis M. Lawson’s “Devil’s Night”. The illustration shows a demon, I assume the Naine Rouge, presiding atop a burning Detroit
One of the descriptions at the back of the book: “In his latest collection, Lawson weaves together fourteen tales inspired by the infamous Detroit Devil’s Night and the legend of the Naine Rouge. Venturing back to October 30, 1987, you the reader will find yourself plunged into a city on fire and where not, decaying like a tooth from within. Whether venturing out or huddling under the covers, no one is safe from the darkness blighting the city. Lawson paints a stylish and horrific depiction of the conflicts his lost souls, and you with them, must endure in their hopes to make it through the evening. Some of their journeys will touch you, others will tickle you, but all will terrorize you to any modern horror fan’s wicked pleasure. Imaginative, artful, and ever-so-creep, Devil’s Night will have you burning through its pages and keeping on the light.” -Jason Parent, author of “What Hides Within”
Got this book a few months ago @weirdpvd.bsky.social
“Devil’s Night” by Curtis M. Lawson, a fiendish horror anthology. This is the first small/indie press horror book I’ve read. Some stories were fun, others were haunting/tragic.
An early bag of Tricks and Treats

We are open today.
🚨THAT IS ALL🚨
hey @weirdpvd.bsky.social,
can I get a RT of my audio series about a little RI/Providence based Vampire? (You've been gracious to let me put a poster up previously) www.netovampire.com
Exterior shot of Weird Providence. Quaint colors that partially conceal the dark and strange colors of book covers behind the shop windows.
Partial interior shot of Weird Providence. The shop is themed around the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Full of books from weird-fiction, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, etc. This place has a multitude of anthologies, I was surprised to see it even had graphic novels. Major authors to the genres such as Lovecraft (Cthulhu Mythos), Robert E. Howard (Conan the Barbarian), to contemporary writers of today.
March 2025, visited a Lovecraft themed bookshop called
Weird Providence
Enjoyed it, delightfully peculiar.
Small yet abundant in weird fiction, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, etc. From anthologies to graphic novels, famous authors to household names to be. Only in Providence, RI.
