I earns $32.00 (after taxes and deductions) for working 3 hours at the temp job, though will not receive that money for approximately 8 months, which is how long it will take for the labour ministry to investigate I’s 15 page claim and issue a 25 page order requiring wages to, in fact, be paid, as per section 22 of the Employees Are Not Volunteers Act.

Wading through the social media haze Wildfire responses in Canada stifled by misinformation, particularly on on Facebook

Canada is facing one of its worst wildfire seasons on record, and my home province is particularly hard hit.

Seeing how false and misleading information about the fires is spreading online has only further convinced me social media, especially Facebook, is a social cancer.

"According to Indigenous Services Canada, as of May 30 there are 37 long-term drinking water advisories remaining in effect in 35 First Nations communities across Canada.

Neskantaga First Nation in northern Ontario has been on a boil water advisory for nearly 31 years."
