More than 600,000 Coloradans rely on SNAP to afford groceries. With benefits suspended, food banks have been doing everything possible to meet the growing need, but they can't replace $120 million in monthly federal food assistance.

This investment will help bridge the gap.

Graphic titled “Statement from the Jefferson County State Legislators.” The statement appears in white text on a dark blue background bordered by lighter blue.

The message condemns the hateful display of a giant swastika along I-70 near Lookout Mountain, calling it an attempt to spread fear and division. The legislators affirm that Jefferson County stands for respect, inclusion, and human dignity, and that Nazi propaganda will never define the community.

They thank Jeffco Open Space Rangers, law enforcement, and community members who quickly removed the symbol, emphasizing that the community must continue to respond to hate with unity, education, and courage.

The statement concludes: “Jefferson County is, and must remain, a place where all people are welcome and safe. We will not be divided by hate. We will rise stronger together.”

At the bottom, the names of the Jefferson County state legislators are listed in three columns:
	•	Majority Leader Monica Duran, Representative Tammy Story, Representative Shannon Bird, Representative Lorena Garcia
	•	Representative Lisa Feret, Representative Sheila Lieder, Senator Jessie Danielson, Senator Chris Kolker
	•	Representative Rebekah Stewart, Representative Brianna Titone, Senator Lindsey Daugherty, Senator Lisa Cutter.

I am horrified, disgusted, and deeply saddened by the display of a giant swastika along I-70 near Lookout Mountain this morning.

This kind of hatred has no place in Jefferson County. Please read our joint statement below.

How Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’ left a hole in Colorado’s budget – and how lawmakers might address it President Trump’s so-called “big beautiful bill” created some unintended consequences for Colorado: It changed how much revenue state lawmakers can expect in the year ahead, and created a $750 million...

This crisis is the direct result of a federal law that handed massive tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy while pulling funding from states like ours (bit.ly/3UHRszH).

Unless we act, that hole in the budget will mean devastating cuts to health care, food assistance, public safety, and more.
