Jurassic World: Rebirth is easily the best candy commercial I've seen since ET.

I feel like I have a Venusian day's worth of responsibilities and a Jovian day to do them all in.

*Note: "Mad Dog" is ABOUT AI, it is not written WITH AI.

Most of my stories involve artificial intelligence, but I will never, ever use it in my creative process.

I sweat and bleed for my art, and I'll never let a machine rob me of that honor.

"Prepare for a pulse-pounding adventure of AI horror on a desert planet! My guts turned to tungsten while reading Graham’s sci-fi ode to the dangers of humans in an AI world."

Another glowing review of "Mad Dog" and the rest of Shapers of Worlds: Volume V!

Happy birthday, Dad. Time to come back now, it’s all gone a bit rubbish without you. ❀️❀️❀️

I dunno, I feel pretty disordered most days.

Especially relevant when those public figures are rich enough to buy the platforms that radicalized them.

Exactly. Writing is a derivative process. It's not about never adopting any stylistic influences from another person, it's picking the right pieces to suit the style of storytelling that suits you.

24.04.2025 18:08 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

That's...the point?

Like, yeah, you will start to pick up stylistic notes from the stories you read. That's why you read good stories, so you can learn good writing.

You aren't destroying your style by learning from other writers. You're finding your style by adopting traits that speak to you.

A plot twist worthy of Last Airbender/After Earth-era Shyamalan. Who could have seen this coming?

Republicans will say "Let me get this straight" and follow it with the most unhinged, nonsensical madlibs version of reality and convince themselves it didn't come out of their own brain.

We do need to make room for those who come to a genuine revelation that they've been in the wrong, but the burden is on them to deconstruct and detoxify their worldview and behavior. Echo chambers are tough, but people do escape. I did.

Screenshot of a five-star book review by Evan L. Reviewer. The text of the review reads: "Another solid anthology from Edward Willett, based on the eponymous SF program featuring a range of established and emerging SF authors. As with any anthology like this, quality can vary, but this is largely readable to quite good. Stories by Graham, Hogarth, Gardner, Kuhn, Lamplighter, Shvartsman, and Schoenberg are all recommended, among others. I back each of Mr. Willett’s kickstarters and based on this volume will continue to do so."

Not going to lie: being singled out as one of the particularly good ones in an anthology with 23 other writers feels pretty darn good.

Today's the day! My newest story, Mad Dog, is out now, in the fifth and final volume of @shadowpawpress.bsky.social 's Shapers of Worlds anthology collection. It was such an honor to participate in this collaboration with some of the most brilliant science fiction and fantasy creators writing today.
