I am BEGGING major journals to stop platforming the current administration's politicization of the FDA, CDC, vaccines, etc
This sort of evidence-lite, glitzy puff piece seems appropriate for a newspaper OpEd, not a medical journal.
Platforming it in a major journal gives it the veneer of validity.
It's been a long journey but today we can share the methods and rationale for the #ACHIEVEtrial (Spiro vs placebo for patients with kidney failure receiving maintenance dialysis) and tomorrow we share the results at #era25

We have added calcium to citrate ratios to the result section providing even greater risk assessment tools to the kit. Thanks very much to Vladimir Belostotsky for the idea!

The βspuriousβ measurement in pseudohyponatremia is actually the direct ISE. Nevertheless, it is most helpful, because it correlates with the plasma sodium activity as we are used to from non-lipemic/non-hyperproteinemic samples.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.
Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.

[Why] is furosemide susceptible to malabsorption from "gut edema"?
When a patient with heart failure is hospitalized with congestion I often hear "let's use IV furosemide; they're probably not absorbing the PO."
It's a comment unique to furosemide.
But is it accurate?
Went up slightly from 30 to 35 mmol/d.
