Together, as of the 2020 census, approximately 105,947 people live on the east side of St. Paul, making up about 34% of the city’s residents.
If the east side was its own city, it would be the 4th largest in the state, after Minneapolis, Saint Paul and Rochester- bigger than Bloomington or Duluth.

good question, not certain. A Kraus-Anderson equipment yard is the only thing there, so perhaps they got an exemption for some reason, if accurate.

30% of the township’s tax base is essentially Bemidji- let the established city and hub for the county annex the 900 acres and manage its existing water system rather than $7M in federal money to create a new one.

Certainly should- we'd have better planned and more efficient local governance.

We need to stop turning a whole township into a city to stop a piece of it being annexed by a city.
Short termism does not make for a strong town- let Bemidji annex 900 acres to extend its water system!
A new $7M system for a new town is sustainable.
