I told her the dinner was delicious (it was), but we had just been hoping to avoid the SB. I didn't elaborate further and we left.

I'm all for supporting local businesses, but when people show you who they are, believe them.

We won't be back if we can help it.

Everyone quickly finished their food and we prepped to leave.

The owner's wife called me over, looking concerned. "Bill seemed kind of upset, is everything okay?"

(We've frequented this place enough that they know Bill by sight/voice and that he's locally well known due to his job.)

We ordered wine and dinner and things were fine until the 2nd period ended and they turned off the feed to tune into Klanchella.

We were mostly done, and hubs IMMEDIATELY got up and got the check and paid and went out to the truck.

Tonight, I picked a small local winery (Dennis Drummond) for my birthday dinner because they don't have TVs and frankly, we didn't want to bother with SB stuff.

We got there and the owners had wheeled a TV into the bistro with the game on and were holding a small semi private watch party.

So it was my birthday today.

Yesterday we road tripped with a group of friends to a casino in rural MN to see Jackson Dean perform. It was amazing. (I'm not a casino person, and this one still allows smoking, and I need to wash everything I brought with me because ew.)

I can literally hear the racists shrieking and losing their minds right now over the all Spanish language Bad Boy Super Bowl Halftime Show. It’s awesome. Cry more! Die mad.

Grabbing a late lunch on my way home at Blue Door Pub @ MSP. (Stone Arch was WAY out of my way this time around.)

"Cult of Personality" by Living Colour is on at the bar. Weird how a 30+ yr old song is still incredibly relevant.

"Vivid" was SUCH a good album. Really underrated IMHO.
