So it's November. The people Trump placed in charge of the USPS are told to throw away any mail in ballot envelopes from zip codes in known blue leaning districts. The votes never arrive, are never counted.

Basically from a business perspective Paramount's offer only makes sense if they assume they're getting more out of it than the strict cash value of the acquisition. This is where the "political allies" card comes into play, which is why the offer is so worrisome. (9)

From what I understand, the Netflix deal was considered much better for the future health of Warner Bros because the Paramount deal would involve saddling WB with staggering amounts of debt, because billionaires never use their own money to buy anything.

This is so so so bad. CNN is about to be under the control of Paramount, which means it will go the way of CBS, and the last remaining non-state cable news will be MSNOW.

the other thing about this is that they can’t really afford to run WB disco into the ground, they already have a mountain of debt from buying paramount and oracle’s gargantuan capex spree, they need all of these things to be successful (oracle being the most important and the highest risk)

I can't emphasize enough that the idea of a Paramount-WB merger producing 30-40 movies a year is an absurd fiction. First WB will become the "classy" label within Par (which is only about Rescue Rangers, Scream and existing IP). Then it will become the specialty or streaming label. Then it will die.
