First round, a pint for me, half pint for Mrs H. Drinks £7.30 and £3.70 respectively, plus a £2 non refundable charge for a solid plastic cup. Second round, the same drinks but with no cup charge. The more I think about it, the stranger it seems.

In other #fringe news, we watched our friends' daughter perform in the Rock Choir at Space (Surgeons Hall). It's a different group each night. Fun, and life affirming.

Highlight of today's #Fringe undoubtedly Captivate Theatre's production of Les Miserables performed by a local youth theatre group. The man next to my wife wept like a baby at certain points. Yes, that man was me. My favourite musical of all time.

World Cup USA 1994 Inc. has put out a booklet claiming that the TV audience for the Italian World Cip was 25.6 billion (five times the world's population) and that 31 billion are expected to watch the American World Cup.

I have a huge book pile. So huge that it's taken until now for me to read Football Against The Enemy written by Simon Kuper in 1994. The first few sentences are quite funny in the context of next year's World Cup.
