Wlad Jahnoson 🎮 Nioh 3

Game #5 for 2026 is Nioh 3.

This is a solid 10/10 GOTY shoo-in in my book. They took everything from Nioh 2 and mixed it with a bit of Rise of the Ronin and what came out is my new favourite Nioh and overall Team Ninja title.

I might have the platinum in about five years’ time. :p

Time for NG+

Yeah it’s one of my pet peeves too. Especially since I generally suck at stealth. I tend to always mess the timing up.

I've decided to drop KCD1. I was nearing the end game, but it started to annoy me with a stealth section I kept failing.

There's no saving here (even with the mod), so I have to restart the entire section everytime I make the slightest error or something. I'm over it. Will start no 2 tomorrow.

Yesterday I finally made it out of the monastery in KCD and now I’m sneaking (save scumming) my way out of the bandit camp after being captured and learning about Henry’s past.

Not sure I can finish the game today but we’ll see how it goes. Trying to focus on it and get it done.

I think from here on I’m basically going to rush the main quest so I can finish it before starting with no. 2.

I did do some side content up to this point at least.

I think I'm at the final main mission in the final area of Nioh 3 now, but I get the feeling it's not the end yet. Will find out today.

I also wanna play some DQ7 today; I haven't played since we got power restored. I think I'm around 40 hours in now.

Time for some more Nioh 3.

Exploring what I believe is the final open map and doing all the side content I come across.

Might start the next crucible mission tonight.

I just never tried or really looked at Tarkov and Arc so I wasn’t aware it so similar. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’m like one minute late for breakfast in this monastery in KCD and they throw me in solitary confinement for two days.

I'm trying to beat KCD1 before 2 drops on GP next week but this monastery questline is going to be the end of me. :p

I've been sent to solitary confiment so much.

I'm sure there is an easier way to finish the quest, but "my" Henry would never kill someone in a monastery so I guess this is it.

It's been a while actually. I did recently replay through the campaign, but only went into the DZ once during the tutorial stage.

I'm honestly not super clued up but I'm pretty sure I remember reading something about them settling it.

I never played the OG games but I noticed they were free on Steam when I downloaded the server slam so I added them all to my library.

Will try them soon.

The House Beneviento segment in RE Village is still insanely creepy.

Just got past this part and almost didn't make it through this time. 😨

This and the DLC are so far the most terrifying sections in all of RE from what I've played. Like it really gets under my skin.

I imagine playing this with friends can result in some really fun/tense times.

The art style and music are also really really good. I'm not paying too much attention to lore tbh though.

Probably not something I would buy full price, but I'll definitely play more of it this weekend while I can.

As someone with zero experience with extractions shooters I tried out Marathon and came away pleasantly suprised.

I played a LOT of Destiny (1&2) so I knew the gunplay would be amazing but I didn't know what to think of the gameplay loop.

I like it. Reminds me of Division 2 Dark Zone somewhat

Power came on some time during the night last night at least.

I briefly tried out the Vampire Crawlers demo on Steam. This game could become a problem if I get it. Added to wish list.

I actually enjoyed all the reading I did so wanna try keep that up, at least some that.

More Nioh 3 today…

According to the latest update we should expect to have power back some time on (or hopefully before) Thursday.

Things could be worse, but it’s also not a fun situation l.

At least I will catch up on my reading a bit. I’ve already done 10 chapters today which is the most I’ve read in a long time

So last night just after 21:00 (during a Nioh boss I might add) our power went out again and this time it’s really not good.

There was an explosion at the distribution centre and we’ve been told to prepare to be without power for “several days”.

When it rains it pours after all…

Our electricity was out from Saturday 18:00 until around 3:00 this morning.
Not the worst thing ever, but it was kind of annoying not having hot water or being able to cook properly.

At least it’s back now and I can get back to Nioh 3 and RE Vellige.

Keen to try Marathon this week

I loved this game so much. Maybe I’m blinded by team ninja fanboyism but I honestly never had any issues with controls or animations or other technical things.

The graphical fidelity is not the best but the combat system is really fun. So many different weapons and styles to experiment with.

Our whole neighbourhood’s electricity has been out for the last 3 hours now and there is no update on what’s wrong or when we can expect it back.

Thank heavens I charged my 3DS and switch this week. I played some RE Mercenaries 3D earlier and now doing some candlelight DQ7.

I'm not quite done with Separate Ways yet but I just felt like start Village tonight.

I’m mostly using Ninja style with kusarigama but I I also use the caestus with Samurai style.

I like to try and poison the bosses before applying elemental statuses too. 😁

This happened yesterday before I beat the boss here. 😂

I love random deaths like this in games. It’s way better than dying from the same boss for the 50th time :p
