The Italian Supreme Court of Cassation has confirmed the 14-year prison sentence for the man who lent his identity to mafia boss Matteo Messina Denaro allowing him to avoid detection and access treatment for his cancer.

So, not only is the Italian Defence Minister stranded in Dubai, having travelled there without informing the PM or anyone else, including the security services, but the Rome Chief of Police is also stuck there. They were both there for "personal" reasons.
