we were supposed to make something inspired by a song, and i chose meet me in the woods by lord huron 🙏

abstract project i did for one of my classes! i almost never do abstract stuff but i actually rly like how this turned out. i especially love the colors

the fact that the head tilts slightly with every brush due to the tugging of the hair is such a subtle yet effective detail !!

spent a good hour photoshopping my friend's cat onto that surprised lion meme

but putting all that into practice is easier said than done? like here i tried to use the land/stream to "point" to the subjects, and left a gap in the trees to draw further focus. and i aligned them with the intersecting lines in the rule of thirds of course. not sure how effective all that was tho

like yes there's the golden ratio, rule of thirds, triangular composition, and probably more i'm forgetting rn. but i can only apply that in basic ways, not in combination with other compositional techniques. ik color choices, lighting, and amount of detail can also affect the focal point(s)

i feel like composition is one of the more difficult things to grasp, art-wise. like once u get anatomy, proportion, perspective, etc, composition isn't as straightforward to tackle 😭

ohhh i was able to recreate this and tbh i don't know why that happens 😭 usually it works if you click, hold, and drag the popsicle from the tray over their mouth. maybe if you move too fast, or too many actions happen at once, it can't keep up. i had to refresh the page lol
