At #TISLR15, my experience of interacting with different posters was highly variable. 1. If the person knew IS, I could communicate with them directly. We could calibrate our signing based on how well we understood each other. 1/n

Interesting! I was talking with Sujit just yesterday about whether to include ads in the study or not! In India, it seems that ads feature deaf actors more often than films do (in mainstream films in India, deaf characters are usually performer by hearing actors)

#AcademicSky, let's get to know each other! Quote this with: 1) a project you're working on & 2) an idea you aren't working on but keep thinking abt

1) My book “The paradox of International Sign”

2) A new project about sign language use in popular media (films, series, game shows etc)

Working on a Deafies Starter Pack! 🧏 Early days but we'll find each other undoubtedly and then play deaf geography (what school/camp did you go to? ohh THAT one, so you must know so-and-so?) 🤟
