I'm mainly referring to newer square enix games like octapath traveller and other smaller games that just use the aesthetic

I sound like a complete tourist but I had this thought for so long i needed to rant about it, also this was kind of a way to praise like a like cus it tackles way more themes than medieval theming

Why can't they focus on something like the wild west or Asian culture instead of the boring kings and castles every time.

They're exceptions like the fire emblem and dragon quest games mainly because they've existed for decades so they can get away with it

Like I dont blame people who sigh when jrpgs appear in nintendo directs because almost all of them look exactly the same.

This might be a hot take but jrpgs using the same medieval castle theme for their games has become so redundant and boring 🧵
