Spoiler: When reading the 1st book the amnesia character gains the "booby armour" near the end of the book, but it is so obvious that the authors added it to the story after they saw the artwork and they felt the need to explain it.

This was an interesting / enjoyable series featuring a character with #amnesia, but the moment they added bipedal dinosaurs it started to feel pretty childish.

"Booby chainmail armour" is such a stereotype of 1980s #heroicfantasy. The author obviously added it to the story after the cover was made.

Arguably the best #heroicfantasy / #swordandsorcery series of the 21st century.

If you crave well-written fantasy, essentially a cross between REH, GRRM and Robert Jordan, then this is the go-to-series that you should be reading.

I admit I never owned or read "Homeland", the first book in this particular trilogy. I jumped straight to book 2.

I don't think I missed much either.

Fun Fact: Richard Awlinson is a pseudonym for multiple authors who collaborated together to write the series; Awlinson means "All-in-one".

Before killing himself 89 years ago in 1936 #RobertEHoward wrote and published many other stories featuring similar characters, not just #ConanTheBarbarian.

Had he not shot himself he would have gone on to create and write about many more characters.
