Artists often struggle with self worth, the feeling that "best is not good enough" or a work they made is not "good enough"

It's why even comments to artists like "I like this work" can give them so much life, like their work is not falling into an endless void

It lets them know they are loved

A big killer of motivation that artists accidentally fall into is the push for "like" quotas, the idea that if your not hitting a certain number, the work failed

This mentality not only kills the drive, but can make an artist ignore the people who do engage with their work
