The top row has Sammy dressed as Android 18 from Dragon Ball Z, Frog-Girl dressed as Josuke Higashikata from Jojo's Bizzare Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, Tara-Val dressed as Miruko from My Hero Academia and Aeris dressed as Felix Argyle from Re:Zero. The bottom left row has the least conventionally-attractive characters dressed in beachwear as I thought it'd be a fun spin on hero shooters often having revealing beach skins for their attractive female heroes, Shelly in a two-piece swimsuit, Holly Knight as a seaweed, tangle kelp-donning driftwood and VERA in a japanese-style one-piece swimsuit. At the bottom is a drawing of Holly Knight as a Zorrose from the Chinese version of PVZ2 and to her right is shelly in a funny top hat.

Sammy is scaled incorrectly cause she was drawn on a different canvas than the other ones.

Assorted sketches of the Lepi (rabbit people) Human (people people) hybrid, Tara-Val, the bottom three sketches are ideation ideas from DrPypsy, originally she had open hip vents with no underclothes covering the skin and it looked kind of bad and didn't fit star wars, so it was changed. Her design is admittedly more inspired by fighting game characters like Ibuki than any star wars characters but I wanted her to feel pretty different from the other heroes. Gameplay wise, I imagine her primary fire would be something similar to Sigma, using the force to hurl rocks at enemies, with her saber only coming out for meleeing and her ult.
And finally, Tara-Val, the hero from Star Wars: Hunters!
I played maybe two matches of this game on switch and then within a year they shut it down! RIP! Unfortunate!

Assorted sketches of Lilly Paddington, The Unbeatable Frog-Girl, both in her hero uniform and her casual wear, also her as a ninji... because... (drawn by DrPyspy), also her standing atop a defeated villain! Her casual wear was actually the first thing I drew for her because the design came to me in a dream, though I think she looked more like an Earthbound character in the dream. After drawing her casual wear I decided she'd be the Marvel Rivals rep, her key inspiration unsurprisingly being Squirrel Girl. Gameplay I'm also unsure of how she'd play, maybe she can grapple enemies or teammates with her tongue? Maybe she can jump super high? Maybe she's a melee hero but I kind of want to avoid those? Maybe she has like a bubble gun or something frog-feeling IDK!

The character from the most recently released hero shooter! I was originally unsure if I wanted characters based on games based on pre-established IPs like Rivals or Star Wars: Hunters but I changed my mind!

Assorted sketches of Shelly, the bottom right one being the earliest design as proposed by DrPyspy, and the leftmost one being the somewhat finalised design I created. Inspirations include, LEGO and Billerman from Tomb Fetus. Gameplay wise, she'd probably be focused around building defenses and using her buildings to reach high up spots or laying traps. Think Steve in Smash Ultimate but in a hero shooter if that makes any sense to you.

Assorted sketches of Andromeda, the mysterious announcer lady, it's not shown terribly well here but she's supposed to be very tall, maybe 10' or 11', the large sketch in the bottom middle was done by DrPyspy! One of the sketches has her dressed like a train conductor, based on a dream I had that had some sort of multiversal train station?? Her key inspirations would be The Administrator from tf2, particularly her young design from the last comic, Athena from Overwatch (the announcer AI lady), Galacta from Marvel Rivals and the old design of the patrons from Deadlock before the most recent update completely revamped them.

The only fully original character for the game, she's recruited the heroes to stop the evil or something, not entirely sure.

Multiple sketches of VERA, the ones on the far right being very early ideation, with the two drawings on the left being the design I used for the final drawing, in the middle are two more recent drawings of her (hopefully) finalized design, exchanging her ISIC inspired face for a ZER0 inspired helmet design, though this will also likely change. The drawing on the left was drawn by Farlander!!! Also included is an early version of her weapon, a hammer-shotgun hybrid inspired by Kongu's initial weapon from Bionicle Heroes. Her design in general is based on the generic robot enemies faced in game, but made unique. Gameplay wise, she'd take inspiration from Engineer from tf2 and her genre of MOBA, she'd have to build requisition stations that would spawn creeps that would attack or defend, which she would be responsible for repairing and moving to keep pressure on enemies.

Multiple sketches of Sammy! There's really not much to her design wise, she looks like a all-star sportswoman because that's the vibe that MNC goes for, her number is 07 as she was the seventh character I designed for the project! Her name and design are partially in reference to Sami from advance wars. Gameplay wise I've never been entirely sure of what she'd do, I think just punching people would be fun but I'm not sure how much MNC leans into melee characters and I wanted to avoid too many melee characters just because of how annoying they can be in Marvel Rivals. She might throw footballs, or have a football cannon like All-star from GW, she might be able to raise a shield, or a net or something sports feeling, idk.

She could also arguably be from Super Monday Night Combat, but the games are similar enough that it hardly matters, though that does mean she's half way the first character from an unplayable game. (Not counting OW1)

Assorted sketches of Fumigator, including some ideation of her head design, plus a sketch of her face by DrPyspy, her primary weapon and a sketch to explore the baggier design of her suit that I ended up going with. Gameplay wise she'd be complex compared in a unique way compared to other heroes, just because she'd have the largest arsenal of weapons and her abilities would really just be her grenades. The main idea behind her was to flesh out TFC Pyro's ability to apply several DOTs of afterburn, with her gameplay incentivising weapon switching to keep DPS as high as possible, she'd also like be able to bunnyhop or something of a similar extent to give her great mobility.

The only series that has more than one hero had to be TF just because it's kinda of the progenitor of class/hero shooters, also because TFC is such a different game to TF2 despite having the same classes.

Assorted sketches of Deirdre, showcasing her scars from the cursed revolver and the crystalline buildup on the right side of her body, one resembling a horn on her head. Not much to say about her design wise, just a eldritch feeling noir kinda design. Gameplay wise she'd probably play like if gunspy was a real class that was viable, so I guess kind of like Cassidy from OW, maybe her quick melee would involve her kicking with her prosthetic. Can probably imbue shots with energy to increase damage or apply a DOT or like mark enemies to have visibility through walls, not sure.

Assorted sketches of Aeris, with one with the goddess of love. One is him wearing an oversized turtleneck with his ears styled based on the artist @kartp.bsky.social. Gameplay wise as the primary healer class he'd be most comparable to medic from tf2 and mercy from overwatch, with strong single target focused healing, though he'd probably have some mobility or burst group healing abilities, I find enemies being revived to be a difficult ability to play around so I'm unsure if his ultimate would be along the lines of that or not, even though it would be fitting for him. Him being the only male is partly because a lot of hero shooters have their support heroes being primarily women so he's a guy to contrast that. Also I like drawing girls so there's that.

He's the only guy in the cast and would be the primary healer.
This also includes the (currently unnamed) goddess of love that saved him from death!!! I don't think she would actually be thrilled about murder but the idea was funny to me at the time.

Assorted sketchs of Roo, with detail on her prosthetics, also a drawing of her shotgun and a somewhat cursed drawing of her with regular legs. Roo's probably the most spiteful design of the project? She's mainly based on my own perceived failings of OW's character design. Primarily the lack of atypical prosthetic uses (Which Hazard's concept art showed they were considering fixing this, but they didn't), lack of indigenous representation (Pharah is the only character I can think of who canonically has indigenous heritage) and lack of non-junker Australian representation (I'm just annoyed by this as an Australian myself, our country isn't just mad max). Gameplay wise she'd be a tank hero, with her cloak broadening her silhouette and her legs giving her an imposing stance. She'd probably have some high mobility abilities with her legs, and a chunky feeling shotgun for her primary.

Two sketches of Holly Knight. Holly's gameplay concept was kind of just based on my very old tf2 fan-class concept The Squire (who herself later became Cecilia) and when I was working on Squire I told a friend about her and found I accidentally just copied Brigitte from Overwatch (I hadn't really played OW at the time so I wasn't familiar with her). So in short she'd probably play similar to Brig, a melee focused support who heals nearby teammates by hitting enemies, has a shield for protection. Hardcore PVZ fans may recognise the name, because the original conceit of her character was based on the unused beta name for Holly Barrier from PVZ2 and unlike Holly Barrier, she's female because only female holly trees grow fruit.

She was designed a little before I had the idea for the project and was just a miscellaneous Garden Warfare OC, but after a bit I thought of the concept for Overcross and Bombardier and Holly Knight were appropriated to be part of it.

Assorted sketches of Bombardier, including a drawing of her grenade launcher. Her kit would be very simple compared to the other characters. Her grenade launcher would probably work very similarly to demo's, but if she shot the ground beneath her the grenade would instantly explode, providing her access to explosive jumping. Other than that it would reward high accuracy shots with high damage like demo. Her secondary would likely just be a shotgun to give her a way to deal with faster lighter classes. Her melee would be a sledgehammer, in reference to Kikkini's original concept name for her being sledgehammer, it'd likely have an intrinsic market gardener effect so you could deal increased damage while 'nade jumping. Primary inspos design-wise are Kikkini's original concept and the female demo concepts by Drew Wolf from Valve.

On the left is a drawing of the 2fort battlements but with the artpass style of Walnut Hills from PVZ:GW. The top right has 9 of the heroes headshots coloured with their respective primary colour. Middle right has the 11 heroes posed as a group, Roo, Sammy and VERA are holding Aeris as he strikes a pose. Below that is Roo and Tara-Val as their respective animals. Bottom right are earlier sketches of the characters with poses based on the tf2 class lineup image but Aeris is in place of Spy, Roo is in place of Heavy, Bombardier is in place of Demo and Holly Knight is in place of Medic, the final image still used this concept of replicating the tf2 class lineup but (with the exception of bombardier) the heroes all replaced different classes. In the middle is Aeris and Andromeda looking up at something, mainly drawn to highlight Andromeda's height compared to the rest of the cast. To the right of that is a headshot sketch of Holly Knight. Above that is Holly Knight and Roo engaged in combat. Above that is Aeris as a little fae-thing healing Bombardier's minor headache.

LORE: former students of a music school, their teacher Rose died during the [unbeatable plot spoiler] and the school was closed by HARM
They now use school uniforms as part of their stage persona and play secret shows (similar to how the band does in-game)
