Today I received a link to a David Jeremiah sermon, a "seasoned preacher," with an important message for our church, and I always wonder what congregants hope they are communicating when they do things like this. Sigh.

Two weeks in a row, I'm done and practiced my sermon by lunch on Friday. This might not seem like a big deal, but it's a big deal for me.

I worry about attention spans and the labour of learning. Every time I open a pdf now to research for a sermon, I get a message like - this looks like a long document, would you like a summary? If an 18 page article is too long to just read and think about for a while...sigh.

Sometimes you go camping in Jasper, and have a great day, but then a big storm kicks up and your tent collapses while you are chillin' at the hot springs and you come back to a sopping mess at 10pm.

I suppose every family needs a story like this.

All in all, could have been worse, but still 🫠

Kane traded to Vancouver and it's not even my birthday until Saturday!

Never let me go. My book club read it this year, we did a theme of unusual/unreliable narrators - but I had to skip that month so hope to read it over summer.

Jon - this is shocking and so upsetting. I am so sorry. I wish there was something I could do to help. I hope your appeal reveals what needs revealing.

I like watching post-game coverage, but could reporters do better than ask the exact same question of every single player doing media? Seriously.

This feels a bit like one of those hell houses scaring people into accepting Jesus into their heart. Gross, but also, God can work in mysterious ways.

Everytime I see Chris Pronger, I think about the time - shortly after his departure from the Oilers - that a fan held up a "Go to hell, Pronger" sign during an Edmonton CFL game. Different season, different sport, same Edmonton fan-base.
