Thanks to @markey.senate.gov‬, @cantwell.senate.gov, Marsha Blackburn, & Susan Collins for stripping the AI moratorium from Senate budget bill. This text would have hamstrung state efforts to protect consumers from things like deepfakes & robocalls for 5 years. This cut was the right thing to do.

Opinion | We’re international students at Harvard. We’re afraid to write this. But we have to speak up. Three student leaders on Trump’s attempts to throw them out of the country.

This Memorial Day weekend we remember those who died for our freedoms, including the freedom of speech. This letter shows our country's free speech is at risk again, and it calls for all of us in the United States to sacrifice and stand up for our freedoms www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

Now @jrosenworcel.bsky.social swan song. Starts with reminder that in 1st speech as (acting chair) focused on putting consumers, disabled and disenfranchised first. Based on today’s presentation, we did the work.

This is where prison phone stuff is covered. Serious work here thanks to Congress passing legislation in 2021. Also work on national suicide prevention hotline. Again, lots of technical stuff to help people connect and stay connected. Again, this is not stuff that just “happens” without #FCC regs

Congress did act to stop #DigitalDiscrimination in broadband deployment in the bipartisan Infrastructure Law... And the FCC obeyed that mandate, creating rules on digital discrimination. A great overview right now.

@publicknowledge.bsky.social continues to protect these rules in the court!
