I have problems with heated rivalry on many levels (I’m a pro Ukraine queer Russian refugee so this show made now the way it was rubs me in very wrong ways that are too complex to explain) but yes, THIS.

How Jeffrey Epstein Seeded The Great Crypto Grift and The Modern Right-Wing Culture

Crypto and Bitcoin were vehicles for Epstein and his cabal of dystopian racists to make money, undermine democracy, subvert regulations, and usher forth right-wing populism.

Absolutely incredible book by @ellenjones.bsky.social

A stark and crystal clear look at LGBTQ+ issues and struggle across many facets of society, with a lot of things we can all do and highlighting people already doing the work! Brava! πŸ‘πŸ»

Wuthering Heights is a Trans Narrative Plus, why it matters and how to teach it

I really don't like substack for it's owners but for the sake this article - here's the link

I just stumbled upon an analysis of Wuthering Heights from queer lens, specifically implying that Catherine (and Emily BrontΓ«) might have been transmasc, and it explained a lot to me, apart from altering my brain chemistry entirely.

Holly shit.

This project is SO close to halfway funded!

Let’s keep sharing to preserve our queer histories through (gorgeously illustrated) print media, to fight online erasure and censorship! ✨

I remember learning about the Hays Code in film school and how it made it so that any amoral protagonist had to meet karmic justice by the end of the film and going β€œwow, that’s really silly” and then once a week I log online and see people argue that we need stuff like that now or it’s problematic

A graphic with a large yellow banner in the middle announcing "Live on Kickstarter! We've Always Been Here: A queer historical zine." The bottom text is in a rainbow gradient with little rainbows framing the box. Above this is a mockup of the book's cover alongside some page mockups, and the bottom half features three other illustration previews.

Timothy Chalamet just proved to be stupid. Not that I’m very surprised about it. Not that it’s huge news.

Fully agree. DeviantArt worked in a way that curated both individual gallery spaces (your profile) and collaborative galleries (groups) based on certain themes, which was amazing for building community.

Now, art is only profitable aesthetics. Can’t believe capitalism took community out of art…

My second degree in acting and theatre agrees as well.

I would add for clarity that you can obviously make suggestions about characters and their mental health, you can use psychological tools to analyse them, in your headcanons and to get a better personal vision on them, but this all doesn’t work as a real diagnosis

06.03.2026 16:27 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Diagnosis applies only to a real person with a real body and complex symptoms that you can apply a diagnostic criteria to.
Of course, an author can make a character and give them a diagnosis - it's a different story.

06.03.2026 15:59 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Also, psychoanalysis is, let's put it like this...VERY outdated and very non-science-based.

06.03.2026 15:57 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

and the way you interpret the text than it actually says anything about the character since a character is fictional thus not a real person and is always a subject to one sided interpretation.

06.03.2026 15:57 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

I was taught that you can't make a clear diagnosis without being in contact with the person being diagnosed because if you don't have that feedback loop, you're inevitably prone to projection and overinterpretation.
You can make suggestions based on empirical experience, but it says more about you

06.03.2026 15:57 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yep. And also, we shouldn't really project characters onto our real life in most cases. I mean, I wouldn't want to be around 90% of the characters I love. It doesn't stop me from absolutely adoring them and their stories.

06.03.2026 15:47 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

And you can't idagnose characters because they are not a real person who can answer questions, have introspection, a real life story and coping mechanism etc

06.03.2026 15:45 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I mean, I always thought it's obvious that Heathcliff and Cathy while being totally self destructive, disguntional and cruel to others, are obvious NOT the main villains of the story.

06.03.2026 13:58 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And how it destroys those who don't have power, support network and who are treated like outsiders.

06.03.2026 13:56 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I feel you

06.03.2026 13:53 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

What you said about Cathy and Heathcliff just being a happy couple together if not for the classist society and specifically a sadistic Hindley, NONE of that would have happened.
They both are not ingherently evil or sociopathic, they are crushed by the unjust world they refuse to accept

06.03.2026 13:51 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Oh yes! I absolutely agree.
