Pixels a tiny percentage of the market and Samsung only does that on high end models.

Plenty of kids have older phones as hand me downs. I’ve still got an XR hanging about as an emergency phone.

Actually if you put your obvious biases to one side you’ll see that iOS phones last longer and are supported longer than any other mass market phone.

Batterygate was a genuine attempt to preserve the battery life of older phones. It’s actually led to more batteries going to landfill.

The decision is just about justifiable in Corporate land, it’s a classic case of perfect being the enemy of good in the consumer space. Consumers get zero benefit from TPM2.0.

But again this requires skills and interests in excess of those held by the average consumer.

It’s irrelevant to the mass market.

Again. Classic mistake of thinking that because you have the skills to have a choice, ordinary consumers do. They don’t.

They really aren’t. You’re making the mistaken assumption that the vast majority of users have the time and energy to do what you say.

They don’t. They’ll just shrug and carry on. This is consumer land not tech professional or hobbyist land.

One of Microsoft’s biggest bungles. In an attempt to make Win11 more secure with a mandated TPM 2.0 module they have actually made their user base less secure.

Classic case of perfect being the enemy of good.

Wrong move. Starmer shouldn’t trivialise Jenricks rampant racist.

He should call it out as behaviour not fitting an MP.

It’s been outsourced to a private battery testing company at some extortionate cost per battery.

They in turn are paying some poor bastard offshore to lick the cells at a penny per battery.

Rachel Reeves clears planning blockage amid ‘good relationship’ with developer Chancellor says 20,000 homes were being held up due to ‘some snails that are a protected species or something’

I’m gonna call it first. Snailgate and Reeves resigns.

Not just any snail but the rarest snail in the UK.

Arseholes the lot of them.

This happened to me the first morning I woke up when moving to Dublin. Thought I was hallucinating. Firstly I was shut up racist stereotype brain. Then I looked out the window and it was real.

Turned out there was a traditional monthly Sunday horse fair around the corner from my apartment.
