Thanks for that! The response for the interview was fast.

I applied Friday and setup the interview today, for tomorrow. Spent today scrambling around getting a haircut and a new blazer. I’ve been prepping since I ate dinner. Might wrap it up and watch tv to unwind.

Fortunately it’s a position that plays to my strengths. I applied on Friday and scheduled the interview today, for tomorrow.

This is a very old school prestigious Hollywood organization so I’m thrilled to be in the running.

Any advice for a potentially life changing interview?

So I loved these in the glass bottles when I was a little kid but certain flavors hurt my stomach. It turns out I have a dairy allergy.

Yea! I currently work at a Japanese arcade chain called Round1 for my day job.

Mostly internet celebrities come in so I was surprised to see Elijah Wood on a busy Saturday.

I’m usually not one to ask for a photo with a celebrity but like c’mon!

Ok that is hilarious. It’s a catch 22 you can get rid of all of it and pay for sound treatment or just leave it and enjoy the benefits.

At this point I’ve seen it all what are you using?

I like your view. The people faking it know what they’re doing. In the case of technical shredders I’m skeptical with miming to the camera if I’ve never heard them play live.

Someone playing backstage is diabolical πŸ˜† at that point just take the loss and use a backing track

I like this take and agree. If I see some scruffy teen in a garage while I’m scrolling I just want to hear that line 6 spider II β€œmetal” tone while they play.

Totally agree with all your takes. With social media I understand the appeal of not wanting room noise in the recording but that’s why knowing some audio basics comes in clutch.

What do you define as β€œfake” guitar playing?

In a studio environment we know everything is going to be stacked, edited and modulated.

Music videos will often be mimed.

Social media? Is it dishonest to use recorded audio to a synced video?

Live? Should be live right?

I had it that way for maybe 3 months before a buddy pointed out my mistake and we downtuned it and did a truss rod adjustment and it was good. That was on an Ibanez sound gear too.

Did it with a 5 string one time because I didn’t know the B string was low. So I tuned it EADGB instead of BEADG

Because of the character limit and the lack of nuance on short form posts I’ll add that any form of bigotry is unacceptable and I am quick to block and move on when I come across it on my feed.

I am a Jewish American. If you are a mutual on here then that means I’ve never gotten racist vibes from you.

When someone crosses the line of criticizing Israel and leans into antisemitic libel I have to block and move on.

Working an event tonight and the host made a joke about people coming to the screening instead of watching the State of the Union Address.

I feel like watching a movie is probably better for this audiences mental health.

Originally I saw one with cats and went to look up that and came across this. The cat one had an electrified fluffy cat for distortion πŸ˜†

What a weird pointer. Some people have no business giving their input let alone managing the entertainment business.

Right? Anything at a venue or performance is mortifyingly rude.

I once made the mistake of telling a musician I went to school with β€œgreat show I loved it except the vocals sounded like shit in the mix”

He rightfully gave me a piece of his mind and I never did something like that again.

Some rando coming up and offering advice after a gig is irritating.

A musician who isn’t open to any form of constructive criticism is also irritating.

The middle path is a musician who can end conversations quickly with those who offer unsolicited advice and seeks advice from those they admire.
