Took Boros Energy to the SCG Secret Lair Spotlight and got my first ever Day 2! I'm very proud of this and happy I hit this goal! Ended Day 1 with a 6-3 record for 140th place so far.

R1: ✅️❌️✅️ vs Jeskai Prowess (G1 OTP they conceded on T2 after T1 Guide + T2 Pride + Ragavan. Didnt see what they were on. G2 got them to 4 after not sideboarding and they turned the corner with Phlage. G3 got them to a spot where they were dead to Haste Escape Phlage or Haste double Voice. They Surgicaled, so double Voice killed them instead.) -- R2: ❌️✅️❌️ vs U Belcher (G1 OTD OP mulls to 5. They find the Lotus they need early enough. Get them to 8 before they combo me. G2 OTP get stuck on 2 lands with Conquerer in hand but just barely muscle through with Guide + Ajani + Bombardment. G3 OTD mull to 5 sadly. Never hit land 3 for the Conquerer in hand and die to combo. Get them to 7. Over the course of the game I used 3 Discharges on Archeologist and 2 Tameshis, but they kept an opener with 2 Tameshi and drew the 3rd. Being lucky is good. OP was Austin Deceder who designed U Belcher and won the SCG 5K at Minneapolis.) -- R3: ✅️❌️❌️ vs UW Affinity (G1 OTP we curved out and removed their key creatures. OP mulled to 4. G2 I overextended into a Whipflare like a dumbass. Landed a Conquerer but they were able to Improvize a Kappa and won the race. G3 the key misplay was not Upkeep Charming the Saga going to 3 to prevent a Shadowspear from coming down and getting equipped to a ready to attack Kappa. If I payed attention a little more, OP is at 5 for another turn before another Saga gets the Spear the next turn and they just die. Kappa goes all the way from there. Really kicking myself over that one. Smh my damn head. Especially when the start was double Guide into Hastey Voice to get everything out of Whipflare range. 👺 )

R4: ✅️❌️✅️ vs Esper Ketramose Midrange (G1 OTP had a Boros draw. G2 OTD made some bad attacks and got blown out by Frog discard + jump to turn on Ketramose and block. G3 went crazy with a Pride + Bombardment + Ajani that went all the way. They played two Frogs over their two turns which first got Purged and then second shot by Ajani + Bombardment after I forced them to pitch all their cards to it. Drew another Ajani to finish the game the next turn.) -- R5: ✅️✅️ vs BW Ketramose (Two very grindy games, but this deck grinds like crazy. Bombardment MVP. G2 Showdown drew me actually 4 cards: Path (for the Ketramose on the field), Pride, Spyro, Phlage, when I had 7 mana in play. Spyro draws us into another Spyro for the next turn. Big fan of back-to-back draw 2s.) -- R6: ✅️❌️✅️ vs Titan (G1 OTP had a Boros draw and ran them over. G2 they had a fast Titan start and ran me over. I had T1 Ragavan for T2 Moon, but they played a T2 Dryad 👺 . G3 got to sandbag a Path for the Titan and held up good pressure. Made some bone head mistakes but got paid off anyways. Better lucky than good!) -- R7: ✅️✅️ vs Eldrazi Aggro?!?! (Turns out this deck is still bad even after bans. Removed the lords and little dudes. Was able to jump over them. G2 Blood Moon an MVP. GGEZ?) -- R8: ✅️❌️❌️ vs U Belcher (G1 OTD have triple 1 drop hand. They lose. G2 OTD keep a hand that has mana to cast Conquerer on T3 with a curve out of 1 drop + 2 drop, proceed to draw second Conquerer on T3. They Shoal my Dragon for 3. Untap and try again and they Shoal it for 3 again! Proceed to lose. G3 OTP kept a 7 without hate that was a 1 drop + 2 drop, but it didnt clock fast enough and was a mulligan in hindsight. I just didnt have the experience to make the call.)

Played the #NRGCHI Modern 10K on Saturday to a 5-3 finish with Boros Energy, getting me 36th. Can't wait to run this back at the SCG Spotlight in Indy. I learned a lot and I'm ready for more. Never said that about Modern before lmao
