Found a copy of the Ice Cube 12" recently and flipped it for 30 quid, was surprised how much it goes for

Interesting list, don't recognise #1 other than the band name, and couldn't tell you how the AC/DC or Metallica ones went.
The Ice Cube is one that while a reasonable success at the time, it's got much more popular since and so many bigger (at the time) rap hits are not on the list
And not to be confused with the American sax player Zoot Sims or the UK band leader Zoot Money of course... Lots of Zoots!

Bonus tracks/remixes are also a good choice to fill a fourth side? E.g. an demos versions the artist may have.
Need at least about 14-15 minutes per side to avoid the "having to keep getting up" annoyance...
Fairly common on dance 12s, e.g. having one track on one side at 45 and two tracks on the other side at 33.
I don't mind (no belt here!) but that the labels often don't say the speeds is annoying!
Glossy laminated LP sleeve, cover shows Hamilton, Katz and Horn standing in a Japanese garden, mostly obscured by a blurred foreground
Adding a bit of zen to your timeline this morning etc
Fred Katz, Paul Horn & The Chico Hamilton Quintet "Zen"
Charity find from last week. Only played once and not sure if a keeper yet, but has some good moments and interesting cello and bass playing from Katz and Carson Smith

Not sure about Rega, but Pro-Ject have a replacement power supply that does the 33/45 speed change to avoid having to change the belt.

Oh that would have been nice!
I didn't look at the rear sleeve until I was washing it yesterday, but they were a groovy looking bunch:
Up, Bustle And Out "The Revolutionary Woman of the Windmill (La Bandolera del Molino)" / "An African Friendship (Une AmitiΓ© Africaine)" 12" on Ninjatune. Brown rough card sleeve with black handwritten print and woodcut style line drawing
Found in a charity over Xmas (how is it March already?!)
I was always a bit confused/intimidated by their name and track titles so despite a couple of comped tracks never investigated further. Think I was hoping for a friend or critic to say "check this out" and no-one ever did

Think my messing around to fix the link means this post isn't so visible in the timeline, so reposting in case no-one's seen it - curious if anyone's listened to it and has any thoughts!
03.03.2026 14:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Could be more recent of course, but handwritten MPO in runouts suggests 1990s (also a UK/Euro pressing), and it looks and smells fairly old. Whole thing is quite a mystery!

Bandcamp Track 4 is B-side "Reach Out And Touch". Not sure it's the exact same mix, but close enough.
Is this meant to be weird, or just a vanity project, or a bit of an outsider art Wesley Willis type scenario?
I'm starting to enjoy it anyway (but A-side is bad!)
samhenwa.bandcamp.com/track/touch
12" record sleeve in white card with black and orange geometric shapes and the artist name "Henwa" in bamboo lettering, and the song titles "Sincerity" and "Reach Out and Touch"
Rear 12" sleeve with stylish stripes but devoid of any info except an artist photo in B&W and the track titles.

Here's a very strange self-released one I found in a charity shop a week or two ago. Absolutely no information on the sleeve or labels, assuming 90s, or maybe late 80s, no info online except he now lives in LA and has put a few tracks (including the b-side here) on bandcamp (no sales)
Not keen on the artwork though, the cover doesn't really match the contents

Spent some PayPal balance on this from eBay, has turned up in lovely condition. This was the second dub album I ever heard (after Scientist Wins the World Cup) via a cheap CD of a friend's in the 90s...

Great track! There's another earlier release without overdubbed drums that is slightly better imo

Ignore the alt saying they are all US records, the German one on Europa is obviously German, the ringwear and bright colours confused me for a moment

Some charity finds from the other day. Expect these are someone's cast offs, but much more interesting than usual charity fare anyway.
Sunshine Pop, German Psych, Southern/country Rock, 60s Folk, details in alt

Xzibit - What U See Is What U Get is another. Not my favourite track of his, but a decent big budget video and some cameos

Plain white card sleeve with a scary/scared looking head
Second was a charity shop find yesterday.
Aria Rostami - Czaral EP
Picked this up for the Secret Circuit "Acid Dub" remix
Album sleeve with decorative Islamic style geometric tiles and pointed arch, album name written in script in both English and Farsi(?)
Couple of unintentionally topical finds from the past few days, both by Iranian emigrants.
First is one I'd been after for a while (should have just got one on Discogs, looks like there's a few cheap copies now, don't think that used to be the case)
Shusha - Persian Love Songs and Mystic Chants
I can see Rosemary working well (it's nice in lemonade too, either fresh or homemade rosemary syrup).
You can also add cloves, cinnamon, dried orange peel (and ginger in Jamaica) for Caribbean style "sorrel". Really nice cold in summer

Both great artists! Didn't know about this track though, must go investigate...
