Michelle Zauner is a Korean-American musician, writer and the lead vocalist of indie pop sensation Japanese Breakfast. TIME magazine named Zauner one of the 100 most influential people of 2022.

We're thrilled to announce that "Crying in H Mart" by Michelle Zauner has been named the UCSB Reads 2026 book! 📕 ✨

This vibrant and sensory memoir explores self-discovery, grief, and Korean-American culture through the celebratory lens of food and family.

UCSB Library now accepts applications for the 2026 Kenneth Karmiole Endowed Research Fellowship. The $5,000 fellowship allows one scholar to pursue research in our Special Research Collections.

Apply by January 30th!
