To be clear, 1968 was the last year the Democrats controlled the House, Senate, Presidency, and Supreme Court. Ever since 1969, SCOTUS has been controlled by a conservative majority.

Just a friendly reminder that the last time Democrats enjoyed the level of control over the federal government the Republicans do now was in 1968. So, the next time you want to blame the Democrats for something clearly caused by Republican governance, please remember that fact.

I had an absolute blast volunteering at The Alley thanking patrons for participating in GSW's Day of Giving. I'm so luck to have had such a great crew of student volunteers with me. I'm looking forward to next year.

Being on the academic job market is insanely hard work. I wonder if adding a section to an academic CV indicating when a person is and is not actively on the job market would help explain publication and conference presentation gaps?
