To start off, can you talk about your design approach to Sphene’s first outfit and the thought process behind how it came to life? First of all, I found the keyword “artificial ghost” in the design request form interesting and impactful, so I came up with the idea of preparing a design based on the theme of a “living, walking tomb”. I designed her so that, despite being a ‘ghost’, she exudes an air of flamboyance with her pretty and bright dress decorated with frills. At the same time though, when I prepared the design I made her hairstyle symmetrical, as I wanted to leave the viewer with a somewhat artificial or unnatural impression. The decorations on the back and hips were designed directly with tombstones as the motif source.
