There were many homes in the UK that had built-in animal routes from the front door to the back door because the medieval burgage plots were long and narrow and it was the easiest way to move the animals. I don't think the gentry would've been doing this, but it was a common practice in many places.

Yesterday at Thanksgiving dinner one of my aunt's asked, "why don't you like police?" I was like, how long do you have? But then gave her my short answer about poverty and funding allocation and how cops don't work, etc. And she seemed to genuinely be like, huh, never thought about it like that.

The Salvagers trilogy is one of my all-time favourite sci fi series. The characters became people I would think about in the same way I think of dear friends. It's fantastic and this price is a STEAL. BUY IT.

This book is extremely good. If you like sci fi with science that works, but character driven, read EDGES. (And then there's more books in the series waiting for you when you're done!)
