A barred owl has repeatedly appeared in daylight hours right by my therapy cabin. Today it sat right in front of my client’s line of vision all morning. I feel honored, as if an elder is holding space with me, imparting some deep wisdom and protecting us as we do deep, sacred work.

Just talking about this with a client yesterday. When horrible things happen our nervous system stays primed and on alert. We can’t comfort ourselves by saying “it will all work out” because we have lived a different reality and know that’s not always true.
