Me: “We’ve been watching our Palestinian cousins survive a genocide for 20 months. We’re not okay.”

I’m a Levantine Arab Jew who is incredibly tired of living in a world that would allow my people to kill my people, let alone those in Gaza.

After 20 months (and counting) of genocide and whatever your solidarity looks like, we are now more grief than burned, bloody limbs and grains of rubble.

I’m 15 pages in and this book is soooooooo good! Thank you so much for this! It was worth the long wait and delay! I’m very sad it’s still relevant but thank you so much writing this and using your voice and platform. 🙏🏼

I, too, was also confused by the use of “contestants”.
