100 percent this. I love editing and being edited and can always spot which pieces/outlets don’t actually do much, if any, editing and it drives me bonkers and makes everyone involved look worse. Collaborative editing is one of the best parts of the writing process, truly. And copy editors are vital

i am *still* upset that jon hamm’s FLETCH movie never got a proper theatrical release fwiw—and that they cancelled the sequel. we used to be a proper country

Telling anybody born after 2000 that they used to put comedies in theaters—& that you had to see them opening weekend so that you could laugh with the biggest crowd possible & entirely forget about your life and the world for 85 minutes or so—feels like telling them about the stone age

My brain is perpetually convinced that doing work late at night will somehow save me from having to do quite as much work tomorrow, only to find that tomorrow always comes with its own separate, additional work that I also don't have time for.

It’s just a whole lot of guys who are bad at relationships pushing the exact wrong message for how to live a truly happy & fulfilling life. That happens through relational joy—not by being an aggrieved, selfish, emotionally unintelligent manchild.
