In any case, mein Post ist kein clickbait und ich erwartete keine Reaktionen außerhalb meiner eigenen Freunde, sondern ein Ausdruck meiner Verzweiflung der akuten Erlebnisse aus vielen Ebenen, die Menschen betreffen, die ich liebe. Und meine Freunde wiederum kennen weitere Fälle der Abhängigkeit.

Leider gibt es hier fast keine Aufklärung zu AI. Lehrkräfte benutzen es für den Unterricht etc. Aber abseits davon ist die Abhängigkeit ein Problem, welches nicht nur mit Schule zu tun hat, sondern mit Alltagsnutzen. Die Abhängigkeit ist echt und furchtbar mitzuerleben.

Ich spreche übrigens von Kairo, Ägypten, und nicht Deutschland.

Leider wird es hier in den Schulen nicht kontrolliert, sodass SuS gute Noten für den Slop bekommen, den sie als Hausaufgaben machen, plus live cheating im Unterricht ohne Konsequenzen. Die mentalen Zusammenbrüche erlebe ich live. Es zerreißt hier Familien.

Ich erlebe es hier gerade live. Es ist schlimmer, als ich es je befürchtet hatte.

I am living with an undergraduate student who is severely addicted to Gemini, and suffered a manic episode because of it. A close relative is unable to even write her dissertation proposal because she isn't allowed to use AI and got so used to it, she can't formulate even an introductory sentence.

Every day I am here I am more convinced AI in all of it's current publicly available forms needs to be prohibited in education and strictly regulated in all other fields. Children are now addicted to the WhatsApp chatbot because WhatsApp is extremely widely used and parents don't understand Meta AI.

AI is making everyone not only fail the marshmallow test (I know it's problematic, but for the sake of the allegory), they also steal more marshmallows, lie about it and then get angry when they are told they can't repeat the test because everyone else is doing it.

AI and instant gratification are inextricably linked. I see it every day here how it messes with everyone, but especially students. There are almost no restrictions on AI here in Egypt and the deskilling it caused is terrifying. Mental breakdowns, depression & rage included when they can't use it.
