sos run was mid today but that's okay not every day is the day, you know what I'm saying
A big mental buff is my self worth in relation in comp isn't tied to my performance anyway; I've been enjoying the streaming/lan planning/all this other misc stuff just as much as playing the game itself
I just need equipment which I should be able to get in time since my planned date is july/early august

#4. now's as good a time as ever to experiment, right?
(lol i don't really like how this one was turning out so i didn't finish it. i'll redo it sometime, or do another in a dress #mirrorart also forgot i had that art tag)
In my eyes "off-meta" falls under this category as well, because the endgoal isn't strictly to find "the best" but its also not impossible for what they try to end up being the best anyway and then it becomes meta in the eyes of others

The example is just illustrative I can think of the same kind of "I want to try THIS" mindset/approach happening all the way top to bottom
One of the teams I manage is brush carbon, another is actively wanting to do bow dyna
Imo a lot of the testing is invisible /happening in closed circles so you don't see the fruits of the labor until a team wins like sos or area cup or a major with an "unusual" comp
I think back to moonlight running pen zap carbon 96d in 20xx as a perfect example of this on the fly adaptation
A game's active lifetime affecting meta is one of the most underrated talking points of competitive games. Meta shifts require a collective effort and developments independent from patches
Smash Ultimate at year 4 vs 7, Splatoon 2 at year 4 vs 6, Melee's shifts with time, etc.
- LAN venue locked in, down deposit accepted

If any rando sends me a LUTI helpdesk question via DMs while I have the flu I think I deserve the right to launch their team into the sun

03.03.2026 23:21 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0currently, rn, I'm at like 800/1000 points so I expect that I will get back to X by the end of this week, if your skill floor is around the basic level that X is meant for I agree that I think it is way easier then most people think

I personally have been getting back to S+ within a week of the season(my average is 3 days but employed + lan planning debuff rn)
I think the edge case is the one season where it took me 7 rank up attempts to rank up but I think thats likely skill issue + an anomoly, it usually takes me 2-3 attempts
FINALLY GOT A JOB OFFER
LETS FUCKING GO
Melonβs 5K season itself has a very interesting story to tell!
Fun fact he played L3 for 4% of his sets this season, his second most played weapon lol

It all comes back to money/capital
Every, single, time
People don't respect the concept that much until its their wallet that needs to do the talking
something interesting about this that i feel like could be gleamed from, at least in a small capacity

A fun mental exercise for esports journalism is "How would I cover this event if it was pay to watch? Or even if there was no footage at all?"
Trad sports dealt with and still deal with this reality all the time. They found ways to engage and inform audiences outside of the stadium
I'm still figuring it out, but I think I might be genderfluid!
Although I've been ok with both he and they pronouns for a while, I've updated my pronouns to explicitly include both!
(I'll probably feel masc more often than not, but I do want to share for future reference!)
<3
Specifically, I've heard of events that cap the whole teams xp (ex "teams total xp added must not surpass 6k") which I wager is their equivalent to our division skill cap events
