Due to your incredible response, Kym and I made the decision to close subs for my guest call with Carmen et Error early, on August 15th, so our small team is able to give every single submission the attention it deserves.

Someone with time and resources should put together a reprint anthology of 21st century weird fiction to counteract all the public domain repackaging out there that makes it seem like the mode froze decades and decades ago.

I once had a chicken we rescued from a battery farm who was obsessed with pecking people's feet and we called her Feetโdoes this count as "faulty egg-producing equipment"?

Further to this, weโre open for submissions to our Micro-Journal (this one!) Carmen et Error, however, due to the volume of submissions weโve received since offering a small honorarium, weโre having to close early to make it feasible for us to read everything that comes in.
Weโre now closing August 15th, 00:00BST.
I also want to remind you that we donโt make any money through Carmen et Error (only through booksales via The Braag) and if you want to support the magazine and directly help pay writers for their work you can make a donation via our Ko-Fi.
Thanks so much for subscribing, reading and submitting!

If I have to explain to you why it's a bad idea to use a machine that makes shit up 15-80% of the time AND destroys the environment AND contributes to rising fascism and genocide AND puts brilliant skillful creatives out of work by stealing their work, then we're already speaking different languages

A book cover for "Necrosmologies by Anthony Cartwright". an ominous blue and black sky, marred by clouds, hovers over a set of buildings painted in grey.
We can reveal the cover for Anthony Cartwright's book, Necrosmologies, launching on September 25 2025! Necrosmologies is Invisible Cities for late stage capitalism, a deeply weird and lyric novella-in-flash-fic.
