From what I read, Aoyama is planning to do this arc after the last major one and is not planning to end it by that time, but the publishers forced him to end it prematurely.

Yes this wish may take an arm a leg a goat sacrifice and the entirety of the Conan money, but my wish is that after they adapt the entire manga, I hope the epilogue gets turned into another 12 episode arc or even a movie. Older Yaiba/Mars arc ftw. #YAIBA

It did act as a gateway to Japanese culture and history when I watched the OG as a kid. And encouraged me to read up on them as well.

I'd say my hopes are 50/50.

It's not like they don't have big funding either(part of the production committee is Yomiuri TV who also had majority of the Conan fck you money-it can be argued that Yaiba is only possible because of Conan) so the possibility of more than 2 cours is not off the table.

Dai no Daiboken got a 100+ episode remake so it's not like it's the impossibility you're making it sound.

And if you have an idea of the story arcs after the Kaguya arc, you can see why compressing them down to 24 episodes simply will NOT work.

Unlike the previous 2 arcs, what follows are comparatively weightier on the narrative side. Rushing them at the rate that they did with the previous 2 will hurt the narrative badly.

It's been played in a lot of scenes, even back in ep 1.

I do suspect that they rushed the material they covered here because these arcs were admittedly the weakest in the entire series. If the bottomlines will allow, a proper adaptation will have us looking at 2 more seasons of 24-episode installments.

Goofy and fun in that very specific "generic 90s battle shonen" way. I've said before but I have an immense fondness for this era of Gosho's style too. Don't know how this compares to the first adaptation or the manga yet, but I enjoyed it

There's a possibility that we could wait more than a year(but not like almost a decade, they have CONTRACTS, after all). Major changes are afoot with the major showrunners leaving WIT, although insider info indicates that they won't be letting go of the project anytime soon.

First one laid the ground for the OG Pokemon anime's tone and direction.

Second one is riding on the coattails of Guren Lagann and Kill la Kill....and actually became epic because of it.

Different approaches, same industry-setting result.

I've said it before and i'll say it again how i barely heard anything about this show week on week is beyond me cause this was an absolute animation spectacle, sure the plot was fairly rote and kid friendly, but holy fuck was it's presentation just insane.

Even this JP YTer notices the trend of modern audiences seeking parasocial relationships with fictional characters in relation to the general reaction to Yaiba's character huh?

When Episode 13 of Yaiba gave me the feeling that I was watching something out of Tintin? Turns out I wasn't imagining it.

Kameda sure knows his Franco-Belgian influences.
