AJ Preller is a lot of fun at the deadline, and post deadline he gets a ton of hype. Yet for a guy who got to run some of the highest payrolls in baseball for awhile and still had an expensive roster is ita roaring success to only have made the post season 3 times in 11 seasons

Cleveland drafted 21 players in the 2024 draft. They added 1 undrafted free agent. Traded for 3 more prospects all in my top 30. So they added 25 players, this past year they didn't think there was anyone worth adding after the 19th round. Kind of speaks to the depth difference

I am glad they kept Kwan as there is no one close to replace him, I also am 100 percent cool with letting him play the next 2.5 years here and letting him walk as a FA.

End of the day I think Cleveland didn't want to pay Santana to play elsewhere, and didn't want to hurt the pen more by losing a reliable, in terms of health, arm in Junis. I think the Bieber trade was an A+. Sewald might help the team more pitching for the Tigers.

That's an excellent return Khal Stephen is one of the big risers from the 24 draft. This is much better than a compensation pick! He is immediately a top 6 to 8 prospect for me maybe higher. Fastball is above average and splitter and slider both work as above average offering. Plus command as well

Plus much like we talked about with Cecconi, you can doubt many things the team does but scouting pitching is not one

Don't get the anger on trading Bieber. He hasn't been dominant since 22. There have been repeated arm issues and he likely was going to walk at the end of the year anyways. It's like the Naylor situation getting 6 years of a starter is better than 1 or less years of the vet

Ah yes the day people who never tweet about baseball tweet about baseball either to complain or to show expertise on guys they have never watched

Junis makes sense just think hedges doesn't net anything

Had 5 dms today about how close this and that is, last deadline I had about on the teens and not one of them ended up being correct or even predicted who Cleveland would acquire. They did have some of the trade assets right

I hear so many rumors and information that I refuse to run with it because 90 percent of the time it's wrong. Teams call check in on trades names get discussed and then it goes nowhere more than I think people appreciate. Others run with ever single bit they ever get.

Sorry everyone I clearly jinxed that

Weirdest take in all this madness is that the front office is somehow at fault for two players gambling in their private lives

Love seeing the team come back strong after a ton of adversity yesterday

They went heavy prep the last few years

Yup that all makes sense

Logen Allen nearly has a sub 4 era, as we all expected.

No one is worth 1st overall money this year, and we are seeing it right now. It's smart to spread it around rather than overpay for a guy who would not be the top player in a typical year

MLB Draft 2025: Something is missing from this year's MLB Draft β€” the players For the first time in 15 years, not a single draft prospect is in the building Sunday in Atlanta. Why?

This is incomprehensible to me. Given how much effort MLB has put into making the draft a thing, how the hell can the league not do the minimal skid-greasing required to make a handful of kids show up at an event in the prep baseball capital of the world?

One more Cleveland tie to pick 27 they decided to sign soon to be 37 year old Rick Dempsey to catch which gave Baltimore the pick to take Pete Harnisch baseball was weird in the 80s

Maybe Cleveland should draft a pitcher

13.07.2025 19:18 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Porcello still has the highest bonus for the pick too, with Aidan Miller and Mason Denaburg 2nd and 3rd

Last was 2001 a compensation pick after Sandy Alomar went to the White Sox. They drafted Alan Horne, RHP, Marianna HS in Florida he would not sign. He struggled in college but did get a decent paycheck 400k from the Yankees and reached AAA for them.

In 1988 they had a supplemental 1st due to the loss of Brett Butler and took Jeff Mutis, LHP, Lafayette College in PA. One of 2 big leagues from there with David Bednar. Mutis played 58 games in the bigs over 4 years.

Cleveland had held the 27th pick in the draft 3 times. In the first MLB draft Cleveland had the 27th pick, it was on the second and they took John Sanknop, SS, from Edna MN. He reached AA.
