Name: Viru Gender: Male Species: Hybrid - Ryujin and Nagarite (Features of Dragon and Shark) Height: 7'10" Description: A hybrid creature from Bayanari, a desert city by the only river in his region, and flows around The Sacred Tree: Rupa, that the four guards of the city protect. Using his unique combination of steam-based abilities and unique skills in music through a special Bansuri flute, he had become the Guardian of The West Gate. Outside of his duties, he assists his uncle in transports of gems across the land from his shop, as well as playing for the city crowds to ease their nerves with specialized, enchanting tunes. Due to his biology, it causes his body to be at irregular temperatures that, if not properly maintained, could cause him to be in grave danger. It was his uncle that provided two gems that assist him in controlling both elements.

Turning his gaze, he glanced in the direction of the watcher, careful to not make eye contact. Not yet. Instead, just a look and a brief scan to see if said watcher would look away—a very human thing to do.

And whatever it was this presence didn’t feel ‘human’. not quite.

He’d heard phrases like ‘Cosmo Canyon’ or ‘Advertising some play’ or ‘how does he keep his whites so white?’ (The last one amused him because the streets were indeed filthy and it was only magic that kept his robes clean).

No, he was aware of someone with /intent/ watching him. He paused.

One did not go through a war and the frontline without learning to trust their instincts and hone their awareness.

And he was aware in that moment that he was being watched.
Many eyes had followed him in the streets to this point—he was an oddity, he knew.

“Then don’t. The past is behind us and the future lies ahead. Whether it is good or bad, as I told you once, is entirely up to you.”

He glanced at the ground, feigning a look of curiosity, looking for something that wasn’t there.

“Strange…But they aren’t here…”

Not in the romantic fashion of novels at least; it was a means to travel from one place to another.

“Are there many of you? Merchants, perhaps?”

“Just concerned for a man in the sun.”

Seeing now that the fellow was whole enough to stand and stretch, Minwu did relax. He decided to bypass the lecture and moved on to something else.

“Your crew—then you are a sailor?”
He’d not seen any airships and the idea of sailing had never appealed.

“Are you hydrating properly?”
