It’s time to refactor the office, and fine tune all the tools 🛠️

I wanted to be just an spectator, but the agent was trying so hard that I had to help, he finally ask for some help and we did it, now that the package is installed we can move forward with the rest of the setup 🙃

Gemini CLI is now trying to build it from source, I’m so proud of you AI agent 🙂

I’m giving a try with Gemini CLI on a new Linux setup, I didn’t want to spend time configuring everything and I thought it will be easier the Agent do it for me, it’s been at least 40 minutes of me watching it struggle installing a package, and I’m thinking “I been there buddy, don’t give up”

Ending 2025 deeply concerned that it went by so fast that if it weren’t for the massive pile of work completed, commits shipped, and things somehow “done,” I’d swear we just collectively blinked and called it a year. 🫠

It’s been quite a week and we haven’t got to the standup meeting today, in a quick glance to my calendar my time off is in three months 😵‍💫

I don’t know if it’s a bug or a way to force me to upgrade my plan in ChatGPT, every time I open a new chat or make a follow-up question, EVERY single time the model is changed to GPT-4.5; No I don’t want to use that model at this time, JUST don’t change it without my permission

Management: “Why isn’t this merged?”
Me: attaches entire email thread + Slack screenshots
Reviewer: “Can you clarify what this PR is?”
Me: points to PR title, description, comments, and unit tests
Reviewer: “Ah okay, approved.”

In my view, hard technical skills outweigh soft skills. Coding, data analysis, and engineering drive progress and build solutions. While soft skills matter, customers don't care how well you communicate that your code is sh*t; they want their software to work.

Respectfully, I see it differently: a strong engineering team can refactor and evolve even poorly designed systems. It takes time and discipline, but great teams don’t just work within the system—they improve it. Leadership helps, but technical excellence is transformative.

Game development update:Even though everything flowed smoothly initially, I faced many issues building and deploying the package on my phone. The game works on my computer, but I can't use it on my Android; I can spend another week trying to make it work or rewrite it on Flutter. Stay tuned #GameDev
