One point - all these people generating papers that they think would get accepted in top journals. I mean maybe, we all have a sense for these things, but it’s the classic problem of big claim, no actual evidence. Show me the goddamn evidence please

It’s clear to me that the argument is actually about what you think the point of doing research is. If it’s papers, AI will be faster. But I don’t think it’s papers I think it’s the process and I want to do that process

Grammarly is generating miniature LLMs based on academic work so that users can have their writing ‘reviewed’ by experts like David Abulafia, who died less than two months ago.
