Consolidation of the web and the death of directory sites “simplified” how we engage with things. Before Reddit etc. existed you used to have per topic web forums or yahoo groups, geocity sites, tumblr being run into the ground also didn’t help. A lot of cool shit around the net is just gone now 😭

It’s one of the curses of how we’ve designed social media apps. The timeline is very much useful when pushing dopamine hits while serving ads. Wonder if there is a better way to show content and help engagement. Because yeah, real connection is best when it happens 😋
