I decided to use the clay mud I have as mortar for my brick kiln. One wheelbarrow worth of mud got me 6 layers. I'm calling it a day though. I don't want to fill another wheelbarrow full today and take it across the yard. I hate that fucking thing so much.

I know that feeling all to well. I had to clean my workshop before I could even bother with *anything* having to do with clay. And its still a mess.

Also, shoutout to @nia.covn.io for being the genius behind the list.

Absolutely. I'm happy to help however I can. Especially if it makes people feel safer.

A long list of blocked troll accounts

A long list of blocked troll accounts

One of my friends actually automated a list here on bluesky that allows you to autoblock any of the accounts he creates. I'm not kidding when I say I've blocked hundreds. Here's a list of just the ones I've blocked on here.

He's a notorious troll in the occult sphere. Not joking, I have blocked hundreds of accounts from this dude. He's also the reason why I've got the security that I do in the communities I've built, since he'll create countless accounts to personally raid different platforms.

My best advice: ignore.

I know exactly who this is and have been attempting to ignore them for years.

I hope lab rat life is treating you well though. Sounds great!

It developed some weird sulfur compounds that made it taste like bitter garlic. Not recommended.

Problem with ADHD hyperfixation: I completely ignore my own advice to not do yard work wearing only shorts. I'm now covered in burdock and beggar's lice and bleeding from lots of interesting places.

But at least I have a 5 foot pile of invasive saplings. Worth it. Mostly.

Bricks stacked in the planning phase of primitive kiln building

Bricks stacked in the planning phase of primitive kiln building

Forgot that I was already in possession of an obscene number of bricks. So, I decided to plot out all that I needed for what will become my primitive kiln.

I still have so many bricks...

Totally. That's why I planned on chucking it near my already existing fire pit.

That was the plan. I was thinking of building the kiln next to the fire pit by the woodshed, so I'd be able to play around with multiple methods.

Here's the idea of what I plan on building:

I have so many things I want to start making with it, but I know I need some more tools before I can get going. Namely, I need to build a kiln. And it's not a necessity, but I'd really like a potter's wheel.

A lump of clay on a wooden board

A lump of clay on a wooden board

After 12 hours of drying, I have a workable lump of clay!

Now to figure out the kiln situation. Should I make it out of earth or go for something more permanent and scavenge some bricks?

I completely forgot about that. I'm glad that you've created a fitting elixir of esoteric mirth.

Oh, I planned on doing both. But right now, I only have so much clay. I need to start processing more. I just wanted to make sure that my first processing job ended with workable clay.

Practical: making planters and pots

Esoteric: making faces for each of the spirits on the land

It's messy, time-consuming, and labor-intensive, but totally worth it. The clay gives you personality to the land.

The remaining clay has been spread out into a wooden board for further drying. Updates to come.

This comes to today. The clay is still *far* too wet. After adding about 20% of the clay's weight in sand as temper, I went to knead it in only to turn my hands into mud gloves. However, certain pieces rubbed off my hands resembled workable clay.

After a week, enough water had left for me to take the clay from the pillowcase and transfer it into another 5-gallon bucket. This was done approximately 5 days ago.

From here, I allowed the clay to settle in the water until I could pour off a majority of the excess water. Once this was done, I re-slurried and poured the resulting liquid into a pillowcase to hang on a wall over a bucket to filter for a week.

Now that the freeze is mostly gone, I have begun the process of extracting wild clay for ritual use. At first, I took a 5 gallon bucket and filled it about halfway with soil from where I ran my test. After creating a slurry with a drill attachment, I ran it 5 times through a paint filter.
