Red Rooms is one of my favorite films of the year. To me, it's about the drive to feel anything in a world so rife with trauma that, before you know it, you've fully disconnected from it. I think it's also about how you can be drawn to depravity and still do the right thing. Juliette Gariépy stuns.

Unrelated: I recently heard someone say, “If my doctor says I need a medication why can my insurance company tell me I don’t?” and that has really stuck with me.

An illuminating read. I am currently on unpaid leave from work due to chronic back pain that makes me unable to work. And I have been denied both temporary disability and unemployment.
