Everyone always says the Euphemia thing is the worst part of Code Geass, but maybe actually it's the best part and its why Lelouch actually deserved, and wanted, to die at the end.

Like yeah they had the Mao arc to establish that the Geass becomes impossible to control as it increases in power, but maybe that increase in power is caused by the user, not the Geass.

Maybe Mao was insecure and needed to know everyone's thoughts, so the Geass gave him that.

Has anyone ever put forward the idea that Lelouch wanted to do this on a subconscious level and his Geass responded to a thought in the back of his mind?

And maybe that's why Lelouch never tells Suzaku that Euphemia's death was a mistake or an accident? Because it wasn't?
