This is a first attempt at categorising @catrionaagg.bsky.social 's puzzles by the techniques used to solve them.
My hope is that this makes it easier to use them in class.

Exponentials and logarithms revision practice grid. Contains eight exam-style questions to aid students with A-level Maths revision.
Line and circle geometry revision practice grid. Contains eight exam-style questions to aid students with A-level Maths revision.
Algebraic methods revision practice grid. Contains nine exam-style questions to aid students with A-level Maths revision.
Quadratics revision practice grid. Contains eight exam-style questions to aid students with A-level Maths revision.
I've added a new section to the site today - A-level Revision. Over the next few months I hope to add to the revision resources, starting with four A-level grids - algebraic methods, quadratics, exponentials and logs, and circle geometry.

We need a math teacher 3d printer space... Bc yes. I agree π―.
14.02.2026 12:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There are supposedly ways to export a desmos 3d graph to a printable STL file. I'll add it to my list of things to try this weekend. It doesn't look "hard" but there are a few steps to the process. I'll get back to you!
13.02.2026 17:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What about having them create a multivariate surface on a closed region, create an STL file, 3d print it, find the volume, find the relative and absolute extrema, find a parametric path projected on the surface of a linear xy path, find the gradient/directional deriv... A cascade of math...

Then I showed them the formula and let them choose which they preferred to use. #mathstoday

I am leaning back into flipped learning this year too. I started 14 years ago and then backed off as the kids were doing so many (not always great) videos for other things. I'm doing it again this year so they can work more actively in class. It's going so well!

I like this a lot
A) you allow AI with credit. It's not going away. Sometimes using it can give support learning.
B) you give multiple valid things to do FIRST before asking AI for help
C) you emphasized that learning is a social act. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
I'd put the link at the end.
Artificial Intelligence Usage: You are free to use AI in this course as long as: You document when, what, and how you used AI to support your learning, much like you should credit a collaborator or a reference. It is not interfering with your learning. Learning requires thinking and effort, failing and revision. If the AI is removing any of these aspects of learning, then it should not be used. In particular, doing math is centered around problem solving - questions you do not already knowing how to do. Asking someone or AI to tell you how to do it defeats the purpose of you having a chance to do problem solving. Focus on the thinking not the answer. It does not replace collaboration. Learning is a social act. Replacing social interactions with technology limits our learning and professional connections. I would love if you ask me or a colleague before you ever ask an AI. We learn through discussion, speaker and listener. You consider the ethical and environmental effects of Artificial Intelligence use.
My current AI syllabus statement. I'd love to link to a short, accessible explanation of the ethics and environmental cost of AI. Where would you link? (AND, thanks to many people on here who helped me form this.)

You need different smokers for different things.
