I bike toured the entire CA coast 20 yrs ago - I doubt I would try again given the continued dearth of safe infrastructure and how much more dangerous cars have become (e.g., car size, distracted driving, etc).

Crazy, because I don't even think the project would provide much of an improvement for cyclist since they currently use the existing shoulder...

They're building entirely new sidewalks and they can't just extend the curb out to elevate the bike lane off the road?
