They hosted a Lowlife album playback with Miranda Sawyer (courtesy of @rnrbook-club.bsky.social) when it was reissued a few years ago and it was an absolutely charming way to spend an evening. Two very funny people with a lot of stories to tell.

A few years ago Yard Sale in London did a jerk pork with caramelised pineapple pizza and it was exceptional. Any kind of flatbread topped with a bunch of stuff and I'm pretty happy.

King Lear is my favourite to watch - I've seen Derek Jacobi and Glenda Jackson play the lead but when he reaches the right age you know that Kenneth Branagh will give the performance of his life.

A large naan bread covered in a tomato sauce which is tinned tomato, crushed garlic, salt and garam masala, then leftover keema goat, mozzarella, red onion and fresh coriander.
To the people who are absolute purists about authenticity in food I offer you keema goat naan pizza.

I am 100% in favour of great regulations on all AI/LLMs, and definitely yesterday and not next year when they've regulated something that has long stopped existing.

By clinician oversight what I think is important is that someone with the correct skillset/training owns the clinical risk and we don't just have a digital panic button that absolves responsibility.

I think ethical non-human therapy is key, but with clinical oversight (this is my job). I do think that there is a space for LLMs to offer something for some people, but specifically developed and tested, not using an off-shelf-GPT with no guardrails as that's a huge concern for all your reasons.

Mind launches AI and Mental Health Commission
"We want to ensure that innovation does not come at the expense of peopleβs wellbeing," says Mind CEO Sarah Hughes.
I work in digital mental health (VR) and there's definitely a place for well designed, regulated AI-led talking therapies. One thing we've seen anecdotally in our work is that there are people who don't want a human involved in their therapy for various reasons so we need to be open-minded.

After Reform calls over the weekend to disenfranchise voters I ended up in a conversation where it was politely pointed out there were also calls to do this to the Irish in the 80s. But yes, whenever I visited my grandparents in the Irish/West Indian social experiment of NW10 there was no racism.

Story time, y'all, about the time I witnessed nearly this exact scenario play out in real time.
It's 2003 or 2004. Serena, Venus, Anna Kournikova, and Brenda Shultz-McCarthy played an indoor exhibition event at Rupp Arena.
Both Williams sisters had won majors at this point. π§΅/x

Β£25 for a cookie? What the baffling luxury bakery boom tells us about Britain
Amid a cost of living crisis, pricey patisserie is all the rage β and not just in London. Our reporter goes on a crawl to find out if a tart can really be worth Β£45
The near-Β£10 pastry shop that's first up in this is round the corner from my office and it does the best pastry I've had in the UK. Is it worth it? If you can afford it, then yes it absolutely is.
