It's been the best part of 28yrs now since the first time, but there's something special about the way that @mogwai.scot hit just at the point where it's needed.
20.02.2026 23:54 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I do think a bunch of Linux hobbyists could create a better NHS back-office infrastructure that plays nicer with the rest of their databases than an unnecessary Microsoft office suite does. But that's a different problem.
20.02.2026 19:16 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It was my first time. Just did Easy Life from that - it was Crackdown/Micro-Phonies heavy setlist wise but I think that tour was specifically to cover that era, but they reworked a bunch of stuff. Not sure how they'll mix it up for their final go around. It all sounded so new and fresh still.

20.02.2026 16:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Meet a new species of dinosaur - Spinosaurus mirabilis!
Its fossils have been found in the Sahara Desert, including a striking crest on its head that was probably used to show off to mates and scare off rivals.

Good point. Though I forgot to include any primer or undercoat so that maybe balances it out.

Yeah, I saw a few give it a go too. If you're an artist and there's a way of getting people to pay for your art then I don't begrudge anyone trying. Also see a lot of "yeah but blockchain" which kinda ignores how embedded blockchain is in finance and supply chains, and is likely to grow in health.
19.02.2026 17:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Mass then home for a cooked breakfast, always. When we lived in the north-east (up to the age of 10 for me) would then go and knock on to a friend and probably play football/cricket/Transformers. Also depended on if my Dad was working or not. But we'd always have a roast before homework and telly.
19.02.2026 15:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Over an afternoon pint after the album dropped, Creation's fix-it man Jeff Barrett handed the down-trodden Gillespie a fanzine called Boys Own and turned to the page where a DJ had listed his favourite tracks of the moment including "all the ballads on the second Primal Scream album." Gillespie looked closer, the DJ was Andrew Weatherall.
Loaded came out on this day in 1990. If you missed my @djmag.com piece about it in which I tell the parallel stories of 3 punk-adjacent kids which led to its creation, then here you goโฆ djmag.com/features/how...

18.02.2026 15:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Microsoft, especially with all the recent Gates stuff even though he's long gone, are definitely one I could see being swallowed up by someone. Co-pilot and Windows 11 have been such disasters. Apple have been much smarter by just kind of keeping back to see who wins.
18.02.2026 14:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I agree. Though this is where I think things are moving towards in the enterprise side of things, but maybe it'll be a whole/big chunks of company networks on a local AI.
18.02.2026 14:31 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yeah, the article is 50% patronising guff and 50% interesting provocations. or maybe 75/25. But also AI isn't going the way of NFTs. I think a lot of companies are probably using it badly right now but the workplace specific apps that Google and Anthropic are moving towards will change things.
