Currently in development and focusing initially on cancer and neuroscience, DHDP will help Canadian medical researchers and data scientists tap into valuable big data for precision medicine research, to help tailor clinical treatments to individual patients for greater therapeutic success. #AI

"Identifying pathogenic variants can direct personalized treatments for cancer patients and has significant implications for their relatives, who may also be at risk," says Dr. Zogopoulos.

But where does this data come from? Clinician-driven studies like this TFRI-MOHCCN supported long-read sequencing project led by Dr. Zogopoulos, producing genomic data to uncover unknown inherited mutations linked to gastro-esophageal cancer, helping identify people at higher risk. buff.ly/f97tzyB

Access to big data helps accelerate #PrecisionOncology research because it’s easier to see patterns and correlations with more data. Also from this information, clinicians can pick the drugs that will work in their patients and personalize therapy for success. #PMAM #precisionmedicine

Precision medicine, or personalized medicine, uses big data to predict the most successful clinical treatment for an individual patient.
