Too tired and too angry.

And if they do believe it is true, what do they have for their base now? If everything they have told people to be upset about has now been solved, what's left to bring them together?

Anne Holton is a part of that event too? That is interesting.

I feel that way when it's half that length if it's this president. If I can handle it, I'll read the transcript. I can't listen to that man.

I don’t disagree with this. I also think we have to speak out against it because otherwise we’re saying it’s okay. They may not be thoughtful enough to do better but that doesn’t mean we have to be okay with it.

I'm so sorry. Plenty of people don't have the self control no matter what. Sending you love.

She's not wrong. Glad I took a few minutes of my lunch to enjoy this.

I'm often sad to not be a coffee drinker because coffee is so often what is available at things (especially teacher PD) but sometimes I am grateful.
That is impressive self control to be down to 3!

It is time for the next generation of leaders and politicians. NYC, NJ, and VA have proven that so clearly. We need them.

We’re happiest when we’re in the front row! And I’m grateful to Doug for adding one more name to my decades-long collection! I’ve missed many chances for signatures over the years so extra glad to not have missed him today.

It's impossible for me to look at this diagram and not have slave ship design jump to mind.

I love roundabouts but Americans don’t do them well either.

If I were independently wealthy I’d spend some on PSAs about why and how to use turn signals.

It seems small. But good point.

22.02.2026 15:13 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Doubtful. I’d prefer it, personally, though.

Thank you for that reminder! One of my fourth graders who is from Mongolia brought me a lovely gift for Lunar New Year. There is so much good.

That too! Once you’re already in a turn lane, your turn signal is not doing its job. It’s supposed to tell me that you are getting into a turn lane!

Yes! That is so irritating.

I am so grateful to @samjshah.bsky.social for continuing to post on One Good Thing. It helps me think about my one good thing each day, even if I am not managing to write about it!

That is something I will keep in mind. Then I'll just rage at rich tech bros, but I do that all the time anyway.

21.02.2026 16:55 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The world is a dumpster fire and there are so many things to be worked up about and I’m still able to feel unreasonable rage at so many driver’s inabilities to handle a four way stop.

How lovely that he has the opportunity to say no to unwanted sexual advances.

21.02.2026 02:51 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Amen. I keep looking at San Francisco (teacher strike and similar economic issues) and thinking that if tech bros paid their taxes (and tech companies) SF would be swimming in a budget surplus.

21.02.2026 02:50 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

All of it.

The more I learn, the more I recognize is based in racism. It should stop surprising me. (Reading The Whiteness of Wealth was probably when I finally thought, "Yup, it's racism. All of it.")

It is painful to see how easy it is to make things work for a society while we continue to avoid doing so as much as possible.

20.02.2026 15:48 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I completely agree with both of you. I have officially hit get-off-my-lawn age, I believe. But Google Reader was amazing. (I do use Inoreader now and I am grateful for it.)

One can dream.

Definitely worth seeing. I am super impressed with the special exhibits the VMFA presents. Thanks for the advice.
