Often wonder that about bad movies. Do the filmmakers realize they’re bad? Or are they convinced “this is gonna be the one” eligible for Oscars?

Are bad movies just a means to an end? Or money laundering? Or artistic delusion?

Watching Cube (1997) and the acting is atrocious. How do these movies get made? How do these actors get parts? Does no one realize they’re bad? Is everyone just that desperate?

They probably realize they can’t get much out of him beyond merch sales so might as well get it before he gets exposed

I think it's tough to figure out how much credit and criticism he fairly deserves. He deserves a lot of each.
